RRB Relocates Wichita District Office

The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) recently relocated the Wichita District Office to the U.S. Courthouse Building, 401 North Market Street, Room B-56, Wichita, Kansas, 67202. The office opened to the public on June 27. The previous office was in a commercial office park at 2020 North Webb Road. The new location will provide a more central location in the downtown area.

Together with the General Services Administration, the RRB has been reviewing its real estate footprint to identify opportunities to relocate offices from commercial locations to vacant space in federal buildings. The relocation of the Wichita office is part of a series of field office moves scheduled for this calendar year, with projected savings of approximately $1.2 million over a 10-year period.

The office serves the railroad community from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Appointments for in-person service are not required but can be arranged through the agency’s toll-free number of (877) 772-5772. Customers can also communicate with the agency’s field offices by email through the agency website, RRB.gov. To send a secure email, click on the “Field Office Locator” tab and then access the page for a particular office.

Director of Field Service Mark Blythe said, “We remain committed to providing the highest level of service to our constituents and look forward to welcoming them at this new location.” He complimented Wichita District Manager Jocelyn Bell for successfully coordinating the move with the RRB’s information technology staff to ensure network connectivity and availability of phone service, copiers, and scanning stations in the new space.
